Voice or data is communicated through these cell phones over a network of stations. Cell phones have all the features of a general telephone and also have various specialized features.

History and Overview:

Cellular Network was initially proposed by Bell Labs in the year 1947. He was the first person to establish cellular network in the year 1970 in Chicago. After that Japan launched the first mobile phone service in the year 1978. With the advent of time, there has been tremendous improvement in the mobile phone technology and in the year 1996, mobile phone giant Nokia launched its first multi use smart phone Nokia communicator which had the facility of internet connectivity and email services.

At its early stage, GSM was just like CDMA. Both GSM and CDMA technology can render different performances in different weather conditions; that does not mean they are bad. Each technology is different from the other. A technology named iDEN or Integrated Digital Enhanced Network is a type of GSM that operates on 800MHz, 1900MHz, and 1.5 GHz and mostly in the US as TDMA technology.
GSM stands for Global System for Mobile Communication that mingles with TDMA technology to render a better use of radio bandwidth; which enables them to make room for upto 8 users per channel. CDMA, on the other hand, transmits across various channels. Owing to its way of sending transmissions as a constant flow across a larger bandwidth, the CDMA technology can make room for more users than its omnipresent counterpart.
